Lube Hero Boot Camp — Introduction to Lubrication Management

Take part in a Lube Hero Boot Camp that is comprised of an introduction to Lubrication management. Attendees will have an opportunity to register for a self-assessment survey to get jump started towards world-class lubrication. This in-person workshop is complimentary and is designed to provide you with a vision of best practices in lubrication and a blueprint, including your own financial plan, to achieving world-class lubrication within your organization.

Lubrigard is pleased to offer this 3-day online training, hosted at WearCheck Canada in Burlington, Ontario Canada. The course covers both the MLT-1 and MLA-1 body of knowledge in accordance to ISO 18436-4. This course provides the foundational training for reliability-centered machine lubrication work practices. This course will help you understand the positive impact that high quality lubrication practices can have on your machine's health and your plant's productivity.

Participants will learn how to transform an existing lubrication process from modest and reactive to thorough, accurate and proactive.

Predictive maintenance professionals who oversee the oil analysis program for a shop/plant would be suited for OMA certification, while professionals working at the supervisory level are more suited for OMX certification. OMA is recommended for mechanics, engineers, operators, tradesmen, chemical managers or on-site lab personnel.

This on-line course lasts approximately 24 hours and is designed to prepare you to take the certification exam. An Oil Monitoring Analyst is involved is a predictive maintenance professional who oversees the oil analysis program for a shop/plant. The OMA is recommended for mechanics, engineers, operators, tradesmen, chemical managers or on-site lab personnel whose core responsibilities oil sampling, reviews oil analysis reports and performs the correct tests, and maintains overall care of equipment and maintenance actions.

This on-line course lasts approximately 36 hours and is designed to prepare you to take the Certified Lubrication Specialist (CLS™) certification exam offered through STLE. A Certified Lubrication Specialist is an individual who is designated as a "Lubrication Engineer" by his/her employer. However, it is not limited to this designation, as individuals from varied backgrounds, including sales and management, opt to become CLS certified to increase their credibility/standards. A Certified Lubrication Specialist's core responsibilities including evaluating and selecting lubricants to use and their purchases, conducts lube surveys, trains lubricators and assembles work list, develops quality assurance and used lubricant analysis programs, troubleshoots and problem solves lubrication issues, maintains records of all application, as well as waste collection or disposal.

Machinery Lubrication Technician Level II (MLT II) – Targets in-plant technicians or engineers responsible for managing the lube team, selecting lubricants, troubleshooting abnormal lubricant performance and supporting machine design activities.

Machine Lubricant Analyst Level II compliant with ISO 18436-4, the MLA II targets in-plant technicians responsible for the daily activities associated with lubricant analysis for machine condition monitoring, including sampling, sample management, performance of simple on-site tests, managing test results and performing simple diagnostics. As per ISO 18436-4, you have to have achieved the MLA I prior to being able to enroll to take the MLA II exam.

Machine Lubricant Analyst Level III compliant with ISO 18436-4, the MLA III targets in-plant technicians and engineers responsible for managing the lubricant analysis function. Tasks include team management, test slate selection, setting alarms and limits, sampling system design, instruments and software selection and advanced diagnostics. As per ISO 18436-4, you have to have achieved the MLA II prior to being able to enroll to take the MLA III exam.

This on-line course lasts approximately 40 hours and is designed to prepare you to take the certification exam. This is an engineering-level certification targeting reliability and asset management professionals with a strong emphasis in lubrication and lubricant analysis. The certification is ideal for those with daily activities associated with development, implementation and management of lubrication programs. It is intentionally structured for those with responsibility to guide and facilitate organizations in tactical step towards ISO 55001 certification. This is both an engineering and management level certification for those providing general engineering support to a user lubrication program including lubricant selection, lubrication and sampling hardware selection and implementation, overall lubrication program design, procedure development, optimizing lubricant PMs and inspection program design, lubricant analysis and troubleshooting, lubrication program metrics, training and skills remediation, and management/staff communications.

Laboratory Lubricant Analyst Level I (LLA I), compliant with ISO 18436-5), LLA I targets laboratory technicians performing daily activities, according to established ASTM procedures associated with testing of lubricant samples. Laboratory Lubricant Analyst Level II (LLA II), compliant with ISO 18436-5) targets senior laboratory technicians, laboratory managers, and diagnosticians responsible for the daily activities associated with producing lubricant analysis data for machine condition monitoring.

Laboratory Lubricant Analyst Level I (LLA I), compliant with ISO 18436-5), LLA I targets laboratory technicians performing daily activities, according to established ASTM procedures associated with testing of lubricant samples. Tasks include receiving and handling lubricant samples, performing tests, reporting results and inspecting data from individual test methods.

Laboratory Lubricant Analyst Level II (LLA II), compliant with ISO 18436-5), LLA II targets senior laboratory technicians, laboratory managers, and diagnosticians responsible for the daily activities associated with producing lubricant analysis data for machine condition monitoring. Tasks include performing test and analysis, diagnosing lubricant failure mechanism and modes instrument calibration and SPC based quality control. As per ISO 18436-5, you have to have achieved the LLA I prior to being able to enroll to take the LLA II exam.

Certified Lubricating Grease Specialist (CLGS) certification is an indicator that an individual possesses a high level of expertise in the field of grease. NLGI recognizes CLGS certified individuals as grease industry experts. The CLGS certification will serve as a useful tool for employers to screen potential employees and for OEMs and end users to ensure that consultants and suppliers are qualified to make grease related recommendations. (Prerequisite to this course include completion of MLA or MLT certification course).
